I learned a lot last year in animation II, from my priers and by exploring on my own. I got the basics down in Maya and even got a new computer and downloaded most of the programs i use at school in my own computer. I'm still an amateur in Maya, but over the summer i learned some new things that improved my skills. I learned bump mapping, UV texturizing, and image based lighting. These things can improve projects and its critical for 3-D objects.
This year I want to mix all of these things together and learned Dynamics and nDynamics in maya. Particle effects, gravity, and other physics that are involved in Maya. This can make projects look better, more realism. I plan to use this in a future project that i want to use called "Fighter Jet". Basically is get a 3-D jet model and animate in fighting another jet. This will involve after effects as well, by using the Trapcode Particle and Element. I can use maya to model the craft and animate it, then use textures from the Pro Shaders pack i have to animate this.
I really want to combine 3-D models and videos. That is what i want to accomplish by the end of the year.
Im exploring different kinds of animation techniques and new softwares because i like to be diverse in the animation field. I usually prefer 3-D animation, but when i do too much 3-D ill go back to doing VFX in after effects, but this year i want to combine them. I don't just want to learn one animation technique, i want to learn several. I believe this can be useful for my class, if someone needs an FX in after effects, i can help. If someone needs some assistance in maya, i can help. And if someone needs 3d titles, i can help with that too. I want to start a little youtube channel so i can get feedback and show people my work. I am currently working on this with my friends.
